Intense Pulsed Light therapy
When it comes to patchy pigmentation, rosacea and broken capillaries, few treatments offer the instant satisfaction of Intense Pulsed Light (IPL). Now you can transform your blotchy, spotty looking skin into polished, porcelain perfection fast.
An IPL hand piece is slowly moved over the skin and emits a broad spectrum of visible light which lasts for less than a second. The light is absorbed by melanin pigment in the skin and converted to heat. The heat dissolves the cells that create pigment and shrinks vessels – fading spots and improving fine lines.
IPL can be configured to emit a variety of wavelengths of light to effectively treat a number of different skin conditions:
Pigmentation/Sun damage: Brown spots will darken after the treatment and naturally shed from the skin within 1-2 weeks.
Rosacea: Skin tone will appear revitalised with less pronounced redness within a week after treatment.
Spider veins: Vessels normally disappear immediately after the treatment or they may appear darker and then fully or partially fade within 10-14 days.
Fine lines and wrinkles: Skin appears smoother, tighter and younger-looking.
Generally, several treatments will be required. A course of 6 treatments with a treatment every 2 weeks is recommended.
